Drinking Coffee is Not Bad for Your Heart, Study Says

A study at the Queen Mary University in London has debunked previous studies claiming that coffee will stiff arteries. More than 8000 people from the United Kingdom were part of the study. Some of the participants consumed up to 25 cups of coffee each day, though the average was a modest five cups per day.

Researchers admit that this finding conflicts with other studies that have found that drinking more than 5 cups of coffee each day leads to an increased risk in heart disease.

“We would like to study these people (those that drank 25 cups of coffee each day) more closely in our future work so that we can help to advise safe limits, ” says Dr. Kenneth Fung who led the research.
